Evans, Ashley

Originally from Toronto Ontario, Ms. Evans is a graduate of the Quinte Ballet School of Canada. She has also trained with the School of Alberta Ballet and performed throughout England and Wales with Images of Dance Company at London Studio Centre. Ms. Evans has been in Victoria since 2005 dancing with Ballet Victoria where she performed in a number of their production including Alice, Sabet Mater and most recently Court of Miracles. Evans enjoyed her debut in the peasant pas te trois of La Flute Magique with Canadian Pacific Ballet.

Johnstone, Patrick

Mr. Johnstone began dancing at age 19 in Naniamo, BC, and continued at Alberta Ballet School before training at the Edmonton School of Ballet ~ Professional Division while a member of the Edmonton Festival Ballet Company. Dancing Roles include the World Premiere of Grassroots, Agnes DeMille’s Rodeo and the classic tale The Night Before Christmas. Mr. Johnstone made his Canadian Pacific Ballet debut in Roberta Taylor’s La Flute Magique, dancing the peasant pas de trois.

Szkolak, Ursula

Ms. Szkolak is a native of Toronto, Ontario and received her training at Kirov Academy, The National Ballet of Canada, Interplay School of Dance and the Academy of Ballet and Jazz. At the young age of 17 Ms. Szkolak was invited to dance as a soloist with The Columbia Classical Ballet in South Carolina, performing roles such including Myrtha in Giselle, Destiny in Carmen, Dewdrop in Nutcracker, receiving stellar reviews. As a member of the Banff Centre’s 2004 summer company, Ms. Szkolak danced featured roles in Balanchine’s Divertimento No. 15 and D.A. Hoskin’s Configurations of the Body. Szkolak made her Canadian Pacific Ballet debut in our inaugural season, creating the principal woman in Roberta Taylor’s Hungarian Suite II, and created Apollina in La Flute Magique.

Gordon Murphy, Heather

Ms. Gordon Murphy operated her own dance school for 25 years. Having grown up in Campbell River, she has contributed her talents both on stage and off to many musicals and reviews including Shoreline Musical Theatre Society and Rivercity Players; since choreographing Fiddler on the Roof for CoVal Choristers in 1974. She continues to study dance and movement as well as voice and acting. Through her business CORE MOVES she teaches many styles including her own creation Core Connection. Heather is a founding artistic member of Tidemark Youth Theatre Arts. An award winning costume designer, Heather has costumed for shows including Village Wooing, Shirley Valentine, The Diary of Anne Frank and Oliver.

Vannan, Scott

Mr. Vannan has had a lengthy career as a professional dancer, most notably with the Irish National Ballet. Mr. Vannan’s career included performing in operetta and musical theatre in London’s West End. He has also worked in companies specializing in recreating 18th century ballets, touring throughout Europe. Mr. Vannan now teaches ballet and pilates based physical conditioning.

Gray, Amanda

Originally from Edmonton Alberta. Ms. Gray received her training at Edmonton Dance Centre, The Banff Centre for Fine Arts, and Pacific Dance Centre. In the summer of 2007, Ms. Gray completed her studies at the University of Victoria, graduating with a Bachelor of Science ~ Majoring in Biology. Ms. Gray also holds a diploma from the Canadian College of Performing Arts.

Harries, Elizabeth

Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Ms. Harries trained at the School of Alberta Ballet and in 2001 performed as Clara in “The Nutcracker” under the direction of Mikko Nissinen. After being awarded the prestigious Ali PourFarrokh Scholarship for excellence in 2002, Elizabeth joined Goh Ballet’s Youth Ensemble in 2006 where she performed works by James Amar including Giselle, Don Q, Differences Culturelles, as well as performing in the Chinese dance in Goh Ballet’s version of The Nutcracker (Clara’s Dream). Before joining Canadian Pacific Ballet Ms. Harries performed as a guest artist with Ballet de Printemps performing the Paquita Pas de Trois. Elizabeth is happy to be making her Canadian Pacific Ballet debut in La Esmeralda.

Sandoval-Romero, Luglio

A veteran of world-class figure skating, Mr. Sandoval started his dance training with the Compania Nacional de Danza in his native Costa Rica. In Canada he has studied dance at Simon Fraser University's School of Contemporary Dance and has studied ballet with David Roland at Lynda Raino Dance in Victoria. He has performed with Ballet Victoria in Peter Pan, Alice and David Earl's Court of Miracles. Mr. Sandoval joined Canadian Pacific Ballet for the "La Emeralda" season, creating the role of Pierre Gringoire.

Aspe, Capri

Ms. Aspe is a graduate of the Arts Umbrella Graduate Training Program in Vancouver and also trained with the Joffery Ballet. She has performed with Rebecca Davis Dance Company, Ballet Senorial de Ponce and Ontario Ballet Theatre.

Ford, Anthony

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Mr. Ford received the majority of his training at the Hamilton City Ballet in Ontario. He has danced all over Canada, Japan and the USA. Recently he competed in the Tokyo and Nagoya International Ballet Competitions.

Szkolak, Ian

Mr. Szkolak trained with the John Cranko Ballet Academy in Stuttgart Germany. His performance career has taken him throughout Europe and Canada.
