Canadian Pacific Ballet and the Victoria Gilbert and Sullivan Society join forces to discover the similairities and differences between the music of Gilbert and Sullivan and Jacques Offenbach.
This will be an evening of gaiety, laughter and fun certain to delight all ages.

Set to the wonderful tale by Hans Christian Anderson, Canadian Pacific Ballet’s production of The Snow Queen follows young Gerda as she sets out on a magical journey to find her best friend, Kay, who has been taken by the Snow Queen. Through an enchanted garden, a gypsy camp, and accompanied by a gentle Reindeer, to the palace of the Snow Queen, Gerda’s purity of heart and innocence triumph over evil.
Rich music by Smetena and Liadov enchant the ear while extraordinary costumes designed and created by Graham McMonagle, and beautiful classical ballet choreography by Roberta Taylor bring the story to life.
A timeless childrens’ tale, with all the theatrical magic to enthrall any audience, the Snow Queen is a must see. |
